Luis Tovar helped me make arrangements with the Neptune Society. He was attentive and answered all my questions. He is presentation was precise and easy to understand. It is a relief to know when I do die (a long time from now) my family will only have to make one phone call.

I recently decided that I wanted to set up my funeral arrangements ahead of time so that my family would not have the financial burden when I pass. I had heard good things about Neptune Society and decided to arrange a consultation. There was no pressure and Luis Tovar, my consultant was very understanding and professional. The whole process took little time. I am able to pay monthly and I have peace of mind that everything is taken care of. I would highly recommend Neptune Society of Northern CA for your funeral needs.

When my father passed he was sent to the morgue. The morgue had originally referred me to another cremation place that left my father sitting for several days and never picked him up. I called Neptune and was immediately pleasantly surprised by a live person answering the phone. Everyone, I spoke with was compassionate and empathetic towards the loss of my father, unlike the other place I called who had little to no empathy and sounded annoyed I called for their services. Neptune’s staff really helped through an already painful time and I was so happy I had found them. If you have lost a loved one, trust Neptune with your loved one!💗

My husband and I purchased our pre-arrangement in 2004. My husband passed away at the beginning of July 2020 about 400 miles from home. I felt lost and helpless. Thankfully when I made the call, Mike Rodgers was kind and confident and guided me through the entire process. Everything was taken care of in a respectful timely manner. I am so very grateful for the respect and kindness I was shown. I am at peace that when my time comes, my children will be guided with respect and kindness.

During these tough times, it’s hard to figure out what to do and you feel like too many things are happening at once. I called and Sam was very helpful, compassionate, and informative. Gave me updates when necessary and they even contacted us a few days after we received everything to check upon us. I greatly appreciate all their help.

My mother passed away in a nursing home during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. With no prior arrangements, the Neptune Society was prompt, courteous, efficient, helpful, and kind in a period of extreme stress. They handled things very smoothly, provided exceptional communications even during off-hours, and went out of their way to provide excellent service, driving urgently needed documents to our home. It is difficult to “recommend” service of this kind to anyone, but I felt that the experience and service were exceptional.

I cannot recommend Neptune Society (NS) highly enough. I took advantage of a free NS seminar 2+ years ago and purchased a plan for my husband and myself. When my husband had a stroke and passed away 2 days later, I called NS’s 800 number and they came to the hospital and took his body to be cremated, saving me from frantic funeral arrangements. About 2-3 weeks later, I received his ashes. The staff at NS were professional throughout. NS’s emailed "12 Weeks of Peace" on grieving are tremendously helpful. I urge anyone reading this to purchase a plan from Neptune Society. You won’t regret it.

Mike was terribly helpful in providing all the services we needed. Although my Aunt was elderly (101) and in declining health we knew her passing was only a matter of weeks or months. Knowing that never prepares you for the actual passing. Mike was extremely helpful. He provided guidance and support in the entire process. We also used the Neptune Society of Southern California for my Uncle’s passing some 12 years ago. The both entities provide great service and kindness in our troubled time. I would highly recommend their services.

I unexpectedly found myself as the decision-maker when a close friend died suddenly. Mike Rogers was incredibly helpful, was knowledgeable about all sorts of questions I had beyond the cremation, was quick to respond in all instances, and most of all were kind and understanding. The Neptune Society knows what they are doing, and they do it with respect for the deceased and sensitivity for the grieving friends and family. I am deeply grateful.

I am grateful for the timely help from Mike at Neptune Society. He answered my questions and helped make some adjustments that were more suited for our family. That was so reassuring during a time when you need someone to help you navigate the process of making decisions while going through loss.

We chose Neptune for their expertise, reliability and world-wide services. We didn’t need the later for my grandma but knowing ahead of time that someone would be available to help us no matter what happened and when delivered huge peace of mind. They offered a variety of plans for every budget and we found their prices to be far less than we would have expected to pay at a more traditional funeral home.
All their staff is incredibly professional. Mike in Oakland was wonderful. The office staff is kind and gentle. The folks who came at 10 pm were sincere, quick, thoughtful.
Beginning to end, Neptune made this as easy as they could, given the circumstances families find themselves after losing a loved one – grief, confusion, frustration. We will be using Neptune to make our own plans soon, so no one has to wonder “what happens” should we come to the end of our days.

My mother, sister and I met with Samuel Rodriguez in the Oakland Neptune Society office following my father’s death. What an incredibly positive experience at such a difficult time. My father had prepaid arrangements for cremation more than twenty years prior to his death. All arrangements were honored and there was no attempt on Sam’s part to pressure us into buying anything additional. He was extremely patient and professional, talking us through the paperwork and explaining upcoming steps (many of which The Neptune Society handled for us). Sam is a very kind and compassionate person and goes above and beyond to be helpful. Everything happened timely and as promised. I highly recommend The Neptune Society. Amazing service at such a difficult time. Sam Rodriquez went out of his way to make sure I had all the information I needed and even came in the office two Saturdays in one month as it was the only time I could get there being from Southern California. I am so grateful for his compassion and willingness to work with my schedule.

Your organization was vital in our situation of losing my husband. Sam Rodriguez is an exceptional employee. He is sympathetic, clear in his directions, bright, on time, willing to listen and to return to our home if needed. He followed through with each request in a polite and easy way, putting me at ease. Signing up with the Neptune Society is such a smart and helpful thing to do, Their service and attention were not just professional but caring and attentive to our real grief and circumstances. They were always straightforward with what was happening, were very efficient in processing papers and other things associated with the death and were a huge relief when there are so many other demands–and emotions- right there. Every person we dealt with at the Neptune Society was what we hoped they would be: courteous, kind, thoughtful and obliging.
From the manager, Mike Rogers, to the gentleman who removed my mother’s remains from her residence, everyone was considerate, answered questions patiently and provided the kind of respectful service appropriate to the circumstances.

I would like to commend Mr. Mike Rogers on his compassionate service towards me and my family during our son’s passing. We spoke to him over the phone because we live in Las Vegas and our son was a San Francisco resident. Mr. Rogers made all efforts to ensure that we got exactly what we wished regarding our son’s final remains.

While I was 4 1/2 months pregnant my baby boy passed away. From the moment of making arrangements from my hospital bed to my son being picked up and then speaking and meeting with Mike Rogers and his staff then lastly picking up my son’s urn. They were and are very compassionate and understanding. I appreciate Mike Rogers and his staff more than they’ll ever know.

I would give them 10 stars if I could! I unexpectedly lost both my parents in a 6 month period of time and can’t imagine what it would be like without the help and kindness of the Neptune Society staff. Samuel was incredibly helpful, efficient and kind. I would recommend anyone if you are experiencing these trying times in your life to use this company for there services and help.

We had been so concerned about my brother that we didn’t even think of what would happen to his body in case of death, but the Neptune Society had records my mother signed back in 1991 when she made arrangements for his eventual death. We were impressed by their record-keeping, so much better than our own, and they also picked up my brother’s body and handled all the other details like getting the death certificate and informing Social Security of his death. While I dealt with more personal matters, my son began communication with Sam(uel) Rodriguez of the Oakland Neptune Society, whom I later met, and my son and I both thought he was sensitive as well as efficient in his communications and business dealings.

Sam at Neptune Society in Oakland. He shared with us that he had ambitions to be a school teacher, but chose to be an Arrangement Counselor. This is his calling. His compassion, kindness, and thoroughness were invaluable during this time. He kept in phone contact with us on the process from beginning to end. He was thorough in his explanations, and his calming disposition made you always feel at ease and comfortable. The facility itself is welcoming and beautiful. Another staff was always there to pitch in for Sam so as not to have us waiting, etc.
Neptune Society has serviced my family on four occasions, two brothers, my Dad and most recently my Mom. The staff who picked up my Mom was respectful and professional….there must be special water they all drink as they perform their jobs! They are amazing, God sent people. May God Bless them all.

We had a very positive experience with The Neptune Society. When my dad passed away, they were recommended to us by the nursing facility. When the van arrived to pick up my dads remains the two men were very respectful, professional and kind.
The staff at the office was also very respectful and kind. Sam, the staff member we worked with, gave us all the information and options with burial and cremation, he made phone calls for us to various cemeteries and handled all the paperwork with courtesy and respect.
I could not have imagined a better experience under the circumstances.

This review is mostly for the outstanding services of the boat crew we used to dispose of our mother’s ashes in San Francisco Bay.

Although the person answering the phone the day our mother passed also did a good job.

The boat crew was extremely respectful of us the passengers, and the captain was excellent talking with me (the oldest child) regarding my wishes for the prayer said, where on the boat we would congregate for the ceremony (bow or stern), and giving me a certificate of exact location where my mother’s ashes were disposed of in the bay.

They were also able to provide me with 2 extra certificates after we left the boat, for my other brothers.

The boat ride itself was beautiful, and the clouds parted at the time of ash disposal, which made the whole experience that much better.

We could not have had better service, from the collection of our friend’s body–and kudos to that crew: it was very early in the morning (2a.m.) and pouring rain and they were so respectful of her remains and of our feelings–to the issuance of death certificates and our friend’s ashes. We worked with Sam Rodriguez. His attentiveness to us and willingness to accommodate our mobility restrictions places him a cut above most. Sam was everything you would want under these circumstances: responsive, responsible, kind, and trustworthy. Everything happened in an orderly way and without any red tape/bureaucratic delays. We are very pleased with the Neptune Society of Northern California’s Oakland office.

The Neptune Society of Oakland, particularly Sam Rodriguez, was very helpful after the recent death of my mother. My mother had prepaid for cremation services, and thanks to Sam’s assistance, the whole process was seamless. Sam was very kind and compassionate, and he went way above and beyond my expectations by personally delivering my mother’s ashes and death certificate to my house. The Neptune Society based in Oakland and Sam Rodriguez, in particular, was so helpful after our loss. We’d only just contracted with Neptune–maybe 2 weeks before the passing of our friend–but Neptune’s paperwork was in order, they came quickly for the body (and kudos to the team that came for her; it was pouring rain and very early in the morning and they were gentle and respectful with her remains), and Neptune reached out to us promptly to get us the ashes and death certificates. We worked exclusively with Sam and I cannot praise him highly enough. He’s the kind of person you’d want: conscientious, considerate, and warm. We’re ever so grateful for the Neptune Society in Oakland.

I can’t say enough how pleasant my experience with the staff was. From the beginning to the end Samuel Rodriguez was there with the answers and that extra help and kindness. I was explained in a very detailed manner, the time frame and any additional questions that I had he was ready with the answer. This made this experience for the family go very smoothly.

Just days after my grandfather’s passing, my grandmother, mother and aunt and I made an appointment with the Neptune Society in May of 2018. The office is warm and inviting. Everyone made us feel comfortable and at ease. Mike answered our questions with professionalism and poise. Although a difficult situation what made me most happy was seeing my grandmother feel at ease and comfortable with Mike’s constant reassurance. Mike’s knowledge of the industry puts anyone who encounters Neptune Society of Northern California in good hands.

My mother purchased a Neptune society contract years ago. I am trying to get her affairs in order for when the time comes. Naturally, I can’t find any trace of her contract or payment. After some fruitless e-mails I called the Oakland branch today and spoke with Carla. She couldn’t have been nicer. She found my mother’s contract number right away and gave me the address and phone number for the branch I need to call to update her contact information. A huge relief.

Faviola was the best, From the begging to the completions of this services I was given all the information, care and respect that anyone could ask for. When going over the prearranged information and fee’s everything was laid out very clear and there was no hard sell tactics of any kind. Faviola scheduled and handled everything wonderfully, she contacted SS, order the number of death certifies I requested. schedule the boat at the time I needed it. ( The boat crew was also outstanding !) This was the first time I had to deal with this, and I learned so much.
