My brother passed away and no family could be there because of the covid19 situation. I’m so glad he had already made arrangements with the Society. They really helped us when we were not able to be there.
I would thank the Neptune Society for their professionalism during a difficult time. My mother had purchased this service for her remains over twenty years ago and I am very satisfied how things were taken care of.
When you need to use a business like the Neptune Society, you are going through hell. That’s where I have been for the last month, having lost my 100 yo mother. I can say the body pickup was friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive as could be. Then I worked with Natalie at Neptune itself. She was warm, caring, honest, and again, efficient. It was all very professional, with a friendliness, throughout the entire process. Picking up my mother’s ashes, using the stock urn, was again as good as this difficult experience could be. So there we are, not a piece of cake, but the Neptune group made it as friendly and kind an experience as is possible in this situation. I thank them for this.
Due to the passing of my husband, I had several contacts with Natalie and also Juanita. During our numerous meetings and telephone calls, they both were extremely professional and polite. I would like to thank them for their sincere concern and assistance!
Melissa, our Rep did a great presentation, reminding us of the emotional decisions that need to get made right after a loved one dies. My parents took care of at least their internment. The Neptune Society allows you to prepare for your loved ones. I liked that the prepaid service takes care of the body anywhere in the world. Nice recyclable box.
On Saturday, I woke up for the first time to a world without my mother. Among my tasks, that day was to arrange her cremation and burial, pick up her belongings at the hospital, and notify necessary contacts, all on a Memorial Day weekend.
My call to the Neptune Society was answered by someone who assured me that he’d have someone call me back that afternoon and sure enough, Natalie called. In those surreal hours as I wrestled with my mother’s loss, it was reassuring to speak with her and learn such good things about what to expect with my mother’s cremation, remains, and scattering at sea. She was patient, kind, and so helpful.
Later, I called her back and asked if I could meet the driver and send off my mother from the hospital, and to my surprise, she agreed and arranged the meeting! I was even more surprised when the driver called and offered me an ETA, plenty of time for me to get to the hospital from San Francisco.
Harlan met me at Marin General Hospital and greeted me with gentle compassion and a very pleasant conversation as we walked together. In the morgue, I stood by the door watching Harlan move my mother with dignity, placing her in a rich purple cloth that he carefully folded and tucked as precisely as origami, wrapping her up like a beautiful gift. I was deeply moved by Harlan’s care and the beauty he brought to my mother’s final presentation. I know she would have appreciated how careful and respectful he was and how perfect she looked.
Harlan and I walked out together with my mother, and I was glad to be near her once again, just to be there with her in this momentary grace. After Harlan placed my mother in the van, we chatted briefly, then I thanked him and said goodbye. As they drove away, I waved until they were no longer in view. It was something my mother always did when we left her house. I could always count on her standing at the carport, waving at me and me waving back until my car rounded the corner.
It was a lovely thing to see my mother off with Harlan. I’ll never forget his kindness that evening. I can’t thank him and Natalie enough for helping me to navigate this difficult process and for bringing dignity, humanity, and patience with every step.
Chartia could not have been nicer. She handled my son’s arrangements very efficiently and made us feel she really cared about us. She performed her difficult role admirably. I can’t say enough positive things about her. I might add that I worked with Michelle Farley when my mother died in January. She, too, was very pleasant and very accommodating of our needs. I would be happy to recommend the Novato facility to anyone who might ask.
We just left the Novato office…Michelle Farley was awesome! She felt like part of the family making the decisions with us.
Can’t say enough good things, the process went smoothly and I didn’t feel like we were being “sold” services… thank you !!!!
I can’t begin to say how wonderful Michelle Farley and the Novato Neptune Society were in handling my friend’s cremation. My friend had no plans in place and I had no idea where to start. Michelle walked me through the entire process professionally and with the utmost kindness and care. Thank you so much, Michelle!
Michelle was absolutely wonderful with my daughter and me concerning the passing of my husband. I had made arrangements 18 years ago and was glad that I did as it made a sad situation less sad. She was very kind and compassionate with us and help us with choosing the urn and necklaces for the ashes. I highly recommend Neptune Society and especially the Novato location with Michelle.
Today, I brought my son’s cremains into the office and asked them to transfer the remains from the “stock” urn given to us when he died into the one we bought for Christmas.
I was greeted by a very upbeat gentleman, who led me to Michelle. I waited in a private room while they took care of this task for me.
Great service, kind people!
My husband died on March 5. We made arrangements for Neptune to take care of us long ago. Machelle Farley spoke to my husband’s son and myself about the procedure. She was professional yet kind and so very sympathetic. I met her as a new widow and my son and I left feeling we had made a friend. My sincere thanks to you and your company Michelle, I will never forget your kindness.
My parents made their cremation arrangements with Neptune in 1978. It was easy to finalize the details for my mother’s basic-services cremation. The staff who came to the house to retrieve her body and the staff at the office were very helpful, professional and courteous. We have no complaints, but can’t say we are “looking forward to using their services again.” I just know when the time comes, my other parent will be in good hands.
I had the opportunity of going in and meeting with the people that work there. Sensitive intelligent thoughtful and professional. They supplied me with all the information I needed and I was convinced of that time to sign up with them and so did my girlfriend. My final and last names hoping that by this wonderful group of professionals. I can’t recommend them High Enough.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful the Neptune Society has been. All details were handled promptly and efficiently. Kudos to Holly Soto for her warm, friendly and professional manner. Thank you for being there in a time of need.

“In a world where you mostly hear about what went wrong, I would like to let you know about what went RIGHT with a very sensitive time in my life. My mother had signed up for the Neptune Society of Northern California long ago and I never knew what this meant. Now I do… Michelle made this process easy, and I have a beautiful urn, and instructions on how and where to use it, including that I would need permits and permission. Very helpful information. I am recommending the Neptune Society of Northern California to my many friends whose parents are going through the same process as I am, and all this is because of Michelle. Thank you for creating a culture of empathy and understanding over tackle the ankle sales–it truly stands out in today’s society. As a board certified coach and consultative sales and marketing expert, I do not say everything I just told you to most companies and their employees. They earn my high recommendations.”
