The Livermore office of the Neptune Society has been a big help during the difficult time after my dad passed. With care and compassion, Amanda walked me through what needed to be done. She kept me informed throughout the process and was quick to respond to my voicemails/emails. I’m grateful that my parents chose the Neptune Society as they really do handle everything.

Prior to my mom’s passing a nurse in Valleycare’s Comfort Care suggested I chose a mortuary so I wouldn’t have to make decisions during an even more emotional time. This was very helpful advice!!!
I reached out to my local chapter of Neptune Society in Livermore.
I dealt with one person during all the arrangements. The Service Manager that helped me is named Sammie Miller. From my initial conversation with him, I knew I had made the right decision. He explained everything to me so I would know what would transpire, which had a calming effect.
It was a super stressful and emotional time so I really appreciate his professional yet personable demeanor and attention to detail.

My son Michael died unexpectedly. I called the Neptune Society in Livermore & Sammy took the call. He was my Angel. He gave a number where I could reach him 24/7. My daughter & I went to Livermore to make all the arrangements. Sammy guided me through every step. He’s a compassionate manner eased my mind.

David ** was our contact. He made this as easy as possible to do our business. Everything was done promptly. Our packages arrived and they are being stored in a closet. Two of our children know where they are and the third child will be told when he arrives for a visit.

Sammie was who we had met with 3 years ago when my Dad moved to CA on hospice. My Dad ended up getting better and lived 3-1/2 years. Sadly a month ago my Dad passed away and we already had everything set in place which made the process much easier to go through. We were in contact with Sammie and he was so kind, calm and reassuring. For a very sad time, he made the process respectful and comforting.

Our initial meeting was not rushed or pressured. Questions answered with total transparency. Both of my parents and myself have arrangements with the Neptune Society and thankfully it’s made things simpler when our brains couldn’t focus. My Aunt had come out to visit my Dad when he was ill, but sadly he was on hospice only 3 days and she arrived a day too late. So, we planned a memorial service in a week. Typically it takes 3 weeks to get your loved one back but Sammie made things happen as he knew how upsetting this was for our out of state family to miss the service. I can’t say how much my Mom and I appreciated his help as well as the follow-up.

A great big help for someone who didn’t make arrangements way ahead (me). David was great. We went through the options together. There was no pressure. I settled on an option that was beneficial for the departed as well as my family. David followed up.

My mom passed away in 2015. It didn’t dawn on me to write a review until now as I prepare for another death in the family. Prior to my mom’s death, no arrangements had been made as she donates everything to science and other organizations. In the end, her illnesses made her and unviable donor. We moved quickly and the Livermore office could not have been more supportive and understanding at that difficult time. Options were presented and every question patiently answered. Sadly, I will be using this service again soon, but I worry less as Neptune has shown they are a quality service. I appreciate their human interaction to ensure all my needs were addressed and I had good information.

From start to finish, this Neptune Society office was so supportive during a very difficult time and really was what we needed as we prepared for my father’s passing from the day he went into hospice to his final scattering of ashes. There are lots of necessary regulations in this industry and Neptune Society knows how to guide the family through them easily and thoroughly to ensure the respect that the loved one deserves.

Michael Sabin was the representative who met with us at our convenience to work out the details with compassion and efficiency without pressure. He answered every question at the time and later as we entered the hospice phase as to what to expect.

Neptune took care of everything when my father passed such that we could simply focus on our grief and next steps with family without worry. They take care of things that I was not even aware of or had contemplated yet in order to ease the estate closure efforts as well. This was the first time that we had ever experienced a family member passing so we really would have been lost without the Neptune’s support and guidance. The patience with which questions were answered helped us to feel more in control of a situation that seems out of control by nature.

Sammie Miller walked us through the necessary forms gently and with infinite empathy to allow for my father to be cremated and returned to us prior to the scattering at sea. Every family handles this situation differently, but Sammie takes his cues from the family and meets them with an appropriately respectful approach to give great comfort which is truly a gift. We interacted with him multiple times as we set up a scattering at sea using The Naiad just outside of the Golden Gate Bridge so we felt a great rapport. He shows great attention to detail mixed with boundless compassion.

Neptune Society was a wonderful decision for our family and the dignity that my father was provided was beyond compare. We are eternally grateful.
